John E. McLeaish, Apollo 11 mission commentator and chief, MSC Public Information Office. Born Houston, Texas. Joined NASA Manned Spacecraft Center 1962, named Public Information office chief July 1968. Prior to joining NASA McLeaish was a USAF information officer and rated navigator from 1952 to 1962. BA in journalism from University of Houston. Assigned to mission commentary on Gemini 11 and 12 and Apollo 6, 8 and 11.
