Anatoliy Vasilyevich Filipchenko; Colonel, Red Air Force; born February 26, 1928, Davydovka village, Voronezh region; married, two children. Graduated from Chuguyev Air Force School, from the Air Force Academy (1961) and became a cosmonaut in 1963. He was the backup command pilot on Soyuz 4, command pilot on Soyuz 7 and commander of Soyuz 16. He was a member of the primary backup crew for the Apollo-Soyuz Test Project.
