Oleg Grigor’yevich Makarov; civilian; born 1933, Kalinin region near Moscow; married, one child. Graduated with an engineering degree from Moscow’s Higher Technical School (1957), joined a design bureau where he took part in developing the control board of the Vostok spaceship as well as in designing the Voskhod and Soyuz ships, and became a cosmonaut in 1966. He was the backup flight engineer for Soyuz 9, flight engineer of Soyuz 12.
