NASA announced that it had signed an agreement on biomedical research with the National Institutes of Health (NIH). NASA was to use its bioreactor technology to produce three-dimensional tissue cultures for laboratory research. The goal of the agreement was to engineer a human lymph node model for AIDS research and to extend this technology to a broad spectrum of tissues. (NASA Release 94-134; Av Wk, Aug 22/94)
