Derek Webber is the Washington DC Director of Spaceport Associates. He has thirty years of experience in the commercial space industry, and is a leading authority on the potential for the space tourism business. He also currently functions as Director of Business Development for the emerging new aerospace company Transformational Space Corporation (t/Space), working to introduce a viable orbital tourism business. Derek directed two landmark studies in commercial space business planning, the ASCENT study of all space markets, for NASA, and the Futron/Zogby survey of demand amongst millionaires for space tourism. He has chaired panels, given radio and TV interviews on space tourism, and provided testimony on the subject to the President's Commission on the Future of the Aerospace Industry.

Derek's career began as a launch vehicle and satellite engineer in Europe, and he has served as Head of Procurement at the Inmarsat organization (contracting for over a billion dollars worth of satellites and launch vehicles), and as Managing Director of Tachyon Europe (providing broadband/Internet access via satellite throughout that continent).
