Esther Dyson

Esther Dyson is CNET Networks' editor at large, writes its quarterly newsletter Release 1.0, and contributes to other CNET Networks properties. She leads its Flight School annual workshop, dedicated to the entrepreneurs of commercial space and on-demand air travel. She is intrigued by the parallels between the commercialization of space and the Internet, and the decentralization and economic expansion that follow such an opening-up. Dyson focuses on emerging technologies, companies and markets. She has covered yield management, logistics, and the balance of power between individuals and institutions for Release 1.0. Dyson began her career fact-checking for Forbes before becoming a reporter for the magazine. She established the research department at New Court Securities and, after covering software companies at Oppenheimer, moved to Rosen Research, a company she bought in 1983 and renamed EDventure Holdings. In 2004 she sold her business to CNET Networks. She holds a degree in economics from Harvard University.
