12. Why does it cost so much? (A K2S Question)

It costs so much because it's very hard. It takes a huge amount of effort to design, build, test and operate spacecraft. Most of this has to do with Earth's gravity. Other factors, such as insurance and permit/licensing costs add a lot to the price as well.
