John W. Cole

Since 2002 John Cole has been with the Propulsion Research Center at the Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama. He has worked for NASA for more than forty years, primarily at Marshall, with the first ten years working on navigation systems for Apollo. Later he served as an Operations Research Branch manager. He served several tours of duty on the Space Station program at NASA Headquarters, Kennedy Space Center, and Johnson Space Center, before returning to Marshall. He was a systems engineering and integration manager for the Space Station until 1994, when he became deputy manager of the X34 Program. In 1996 he became the manager of the Revolutionary Propulsion Research Project Office within the Advanced Space Transportation Program Office. He received a bachelor's degree in engineering physics from Auburn University in 1962 with subsequent graduate work at the University of Alabama in Huntsville.
