Montreal, Canada, Gazette commented on Apollo 11 mission: "Lyndon Johnson, more than any other man, is responsible for meeting the moon-shot deadline this week. . . ." (Am Consul, Montreal)

Pittsfield, Mass." Berkshire Eagle editorial said: "It subtracts nothing from the extraordinary human and technical achievement represented by Apollo 11 to say that the projected lunar landing is an occasion not only for awe and pride but also for a thoughtful reappraisal of our whole approach to the new frontier of space.
