Abstract

Little interest was originally expressed in the Chinese space programme by western space writers due basically to the lack of hard information released about the subject. As the Chinese started to open up their programme to western commercial exploitation they started to release more information about their past, present and future space activities. This paper presents a review of Chinese satellite launches from the first flight in 1970 through to the end of 1998.
