NASA announced the appointment of Carl E. Grant as NASA Director of Personnel, effective 5 Sept. For the past 5 yr, Grant had been personnel director for the Small Business Administration; previously he was associate director for personnel administration at the Smithsonian Institution, and had held personnel positions at the Civil Service Commission, Department of Defense, and U.S. Army. He received a B.S. in economics and business administration from the Univ. of Detroit in 1960. In his new post, Grant would be responsible for personnel administration agency wide.
