At "encounter minus 4 days," JPL issued a Voyager bulletin showing a nine-photo mosaic of Jupiter's surface constructed from time-lapse photographs taken 7.8 million kilometers (4.7 million miles) from the planet. The bulletin also gave data on expected Sun and Earth occultations by Jupiter offering opportunities for "unique radio science and ultraviolet measurements" and on the close approaches to the five large Jovian satellites that would also occur March 5.
