Scientists Institute for Public Information was founded by about 100 U.S. scientists representing 22 independent infor­mation committees at meeting in New York. Dr. Jules Hirsch, research physician and biochemist at Rockefeller Institute, was named temporary chairman of the board. (AP, Wash. Post, 2/18/63, A2)
