TIROS V ceased transmitting photographs after record 101/2 months of operation. Through orbit 4,579 on May 4, TIROS v had sent more than 57,857 cloud-cover pictures, 80% of which were usable for meteorological purposes. (NASA Release 63-93)

Estimated 200 German scientists and technicians were working in Military Factory 333, Egyptian rocket center outside Cairo, according to Washington Post's magazine Parade. (Parade, 5/5/63)
