Ulysses has flown over both poles of the Sun in an unprecedented voyage giving insights into magnetic fields, solar winds, and cosmic rays. It reached its highest point on July 31. It passed over the south pole last September. The European Space Agency's (ESA) Ulysses spacecraft is the first to fly over both poles of the Sun. It will complete the northern polar pass on September 29 and begin to journey back out to the orbit of Jupiter.
