Daily Mail newspaper reports "Rocket Brigade of the Moon", an article about the Manchester Interplanetary Society and their successful launch of a two stage rocket to 300ft at Clayton Vale the day before. The article mentions that 20 boys were in attendance including Eric Burgess the President of the Society and a student of the Municipal High School of Commerce. Another attendee was 17 year old James Cummins who used his own home-built theodolite.
