On this day Eric Burgess of the CBAS and his sister, D.H. Burgess, Treasurer of CBAS, met with Arthur C. Clarke at the home of BIS founder Philip Cleator in Wallasey Cheshire to confirm the discussions Burgess and Clarke had earlier in the year at Warwick Castle regarding the merger of CBAS and BIS. It was decided that BIS should become a member of CBAS until the end of the war. The name of the new national organization was postponed until members of all the groups could vote on the matter.
