33. How deep is the deepest crater? (A K2S Question)
From The Space Library
The deepest impact structure on the Moon, and possibly in the solar system, is the Aitken Basin on the far side of the Moon. This impact was so large that it punched through the crust of the Moon and exposed the relatively warmer, softer mantle material underneath. It is over 7.4 miles deep, and is also the largest impact structure found to date at over 1,500 miles in diameter.
