06. Is re-entry loud? Do you feel vibration? Do the forces hurt or cause you any harm? (A K2S Question)
From The Space Library
During re-entry, once we are in the atmosphere, the sounds that we hear are similar to those that you would normally hear on a commercial aircraft. The crew is also wearing helmets that help attenuate much of the sound. There can be some vibration during re-entry, primarily caused by atmospheric turbulence. It is very minor and not often experienced. There are no harmful forces during re-entry. The most load felt by the crew is approximately two g-forces, significantly less than you would feel on a roller coaster.
