Construction began at White Sands Proving Ground. The Daily Express newspaper reports that 450 German V-2 rocket scientists were being interned at Garmisch-Partenkirchen in Bavaria, and Walter Dornberger was comfortably accomodated in a barracks with telephones, running water and a "blonde secretary to type for him."
