Gordon Young of the British Daily Express newspaper interviews Wernher von Braun at a former museum in Garmisch Partenkirchen where he and Walter Dornberger are held as captives of the US Army. The story makes the front page back in England and begins the press vilification of Von Braun, painting him as a soulless opportunist.
"It was immaterial to him whether they were fired at the moon or on little homes in London so long as he could prove his invention worked efficiently. He feels no guilt at all," wrote Young.
