Arbeitsgemeinschaft für Weltraumforschung

On August 2nd, 1948, in Leipzig, Norbert Litterst and Harry Ruppe founded an independent “working group for space research” (Arbeitsgemeinschaft für Weltraumforschung). This group would then merge with the "Hermann Ganswindt Research Association" (Hermann-Ganswindt-Forschungsgemeinschaft) (HGF) on April 26 1949 to create the the "United Astronautical Association" (Vereinigte Astronautische Arbeitsgemeinschaft) (VAA). This group published a magazine called "Ad Astra". They also hosted a lecture series.
