"To the Moon in a Space Ship" cover story about the British Interplanetary Society's design for a lunar mission appears in Newnes Practical Mechanics in England.

The first issue of New Worlds a science fiction magazine appears in England. It would later publish many articles and stories by members of the British Interplanetary Society.
