M.N. Tukhachevsky issues an order of the USSR Revolutionary Military Council to establish the Reaction Propulsion Research Institute (RNII). I.T. Kleimenov is appointed chief and Sergei Pavlovitch Korolev as his deputy. By early 1934 Korolev was promoted to chief and G.E. Langemak became his deputy.
