The BIS monthly meeting takes place in Liverpool. It is decided to suspend publication of JBIS "until such time as circumstances justified its reappearance." Eric Frank Russell is appointed co-editor of The New Columbus which is the new titled assigned that day to the Bulletin of the British Interplanetary Society. Russell showed examples of the Cleveland Rocket Society bulletin "Space" as the model to be copied. Discussions are had regarding a merger with the Liverpool Astronomical Society. Leslie J. Johnson then read "Interplanetary Radio Echoes and Their Use in the Exploration of Interplanetary Space" from "Armchair Science." Another article from Scientific American entitled "Could A Manned Rocket Reach Mars?" was also read to the membership.
