U.S.S.R.'s Lunokhod 1 lunar rover was activated following eighth lunar night since vehicle was landed on moon by Luna 17 Nov. 17, 1970. Temperature in instrumentation compartment was 295 K (72°F), pressure was 100 375 newtons per sq m (753 mm mercury), and all systems were functioning satisfactorily.
