First year of formal graduate study in aeronautical engineering was completed at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and one master of science degree was awarded.

Electrical Experimenter magazine features cover art by Frank Paul of spacecraft designed by Hugo Gernsback. The artwork presages the Telstar satellite of almost 50 years later.
