CONTRACT RELEASE: C12-057 NASA AWARDS CONTRACT MODIFICATION FOR INTEGRATED COMMUNICATIONS SERVICES
WASHINGTON -- NASA has awarded Science Applications International Corp. (SAIC) of Mclean, Va., a modification to its integrated communications services contract at the agency's Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Md.; Wallops Flight Facility on Wallops Island, Va.; and Goddard Institute for Space Studies in New York. SAIC provides voice communication services including procurement implementation and operation of an Internet protocol telephone system. The contract period of performance is June 1, 2011, through May 31, 2021. It includes three base years and 3 options of two years, three years and two years, respectively. The modification increases the existing support contract by more than $25 million from Nov. 1 - May 31, 2021, if all options are exercised. The contract is managed at the NASA Shared Services Center (NSSC). The NSSC is a partnership between NASA, business solutions provider CSC and the states of Mississippi and Louisiana. The NSSC performs selected business activities for all 10 NASA centers in financial management, human resources, information technology and procurement.
CONTRACT RELEASE: C12-058 NASA SELECTS CONTRACT FOR ARCHITECT ENGINEERING SERVICES
MOFFETT FIELD, Calif. -- NASA has selected AECOM Technical Services Inc. of San Francisco, to support architect engineering services for the Facilities Engineering Branch at the agency's Ames Research Center in Moffett Field, Calif. This firm-fixed-price, definite-core, indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity hybrid contract begins Nov.1. The contract has a maximum value of $59.3 million and a one-year base period with four one-year options. Architect engineering support services the company will provide under contract include facility master planning, facility engineering design, energy and water conservation program management, facility utilization, real property management, and engineering services at Ames.
MEDIA ADVISORY: M12-211 NASA HOSTS NOV. 2 TELECONFERENCE ABOUT MARS ROVER PROGRESS
PASADENA, Calif. -- NASA will host a media teleconference at 10 a.m. PDT (1 p.m. EDT) Friday, Nov. 2, to provide an update on Curiosity's studies of the Martian atmosphere. The Mars Science Laboratory Project and its Curiosity rover are about three months into a two-year prime mission to investigate whether conditions in Mars' Gale Crater may have been favorable for microbial life.
