Rep. Don Edwards (D-Calif.) urged in a letter to the Dept. of the Navy that Moffett Field, where NASA's instrumented Convair 990 Galileo and a Navy P-3 Orion crashed after colliding in mid-air April 12, be closed because of the "dangerous situation" and "nuisance" it caused. An exhibit honoring black pilots, including the 450 who flew combat missions in World War II, was opened at the Air Force Museum at Wright Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. (UPI, W Star & News, 4/8,/73, 4)
