U.S.S.R. launched Cosmos CCXIV into orbit with 3701m (229.9- mi) apogee, 199-km (123.6-mi) perigee, 90.1-min period, and 81.3° inclination. Satellite reentered April 26. (GSFC SSR, 4/30/68)
LaRC selected Northrop Corp.'s Norair Div. for negotiations on $2-million contract to design and construct differential maneuvering simulator. System, two identical piloted flight simulators linked electronically through central computing equipment, would be used to study future aerospace vehicle concepts. (NASA Release 68-74)
NASA announced appointment of two new members to Aerospace Safety Advisory Panel: Dr. C. D. Harrington, President of Douglas United Nuclear, Inc., for six-year term; and S. T. Harris, Officer of the Board, Texas Instruments, Inc., for four years. (NASA Release 68-72)
