[Echo I]] completed first year in orbit, still clearly visible to the naked eye, after 4,480 orbits and traveling 138 million miles. [Echo I]] provided basis for over 150 communications experiments, recent ones indicating only a 40-percent reduction in transmission reflection caused by the changed shape. [Echo I]] provided significant data on atmospheric drag and solar pressure.
