Maxime Faget of NACA Langley proposed ballistic shape of Mercury capsule, while Alfred Eggers of Ames and E. S. Love and J. V. Becker of Langley proposed glider configurations of manned spacecraft later incorporated in Dyna-Soar and Apollo studies.
