[edit] Abstract

This paper up-dates in detail an analysis of final equator crossings and landing sites of Soviet satellites prepared in 1982 and published the following year. Anomalies in the equator crossing longitudes can give indications that a recovery has either been delayed or has taken place earlier than would be expected, presumably because in-flight problems required the unplanned termination of a mission. Both spacecraft in the manned programme and satellites in the photoreconnaissance programme are reviewed here.
