Gregory Schlick
Greg Schlick works in the Earth Sciences Division at NASA's Ames Research Center at Moffett Field in California, conducting research on acetone evolution, arsenic hyper-accumulation in plants and the spectral reflectance for defining species type and nutrient stress level of plants. In 1990 he began working in the Controlled Ecological Life Support Systems (CELSS) group at Ames, investigating plants for the development of long duration life support systems for human space travel. He specialized in the development of new crops for controlled environment agriculture and played a vital role in the development of the CELSS crop growth system for the Antarctic Analog Project. At that time he was involved with complete remote community sustainable systems in Alaska. He has authored several papers, three book chapters and technical reports. He received a bachelor of science degree in botany and a master of science degree in plant physiology from San Jose State University.
