The SS USAT Edmund B Alexander sails from Bremerhaven carrying twelve German scientists, bound for Camp Kilmer in New Jersey. They arrived in New York on August 2nd 1947. The manifest listed them as "German scientists part of Project Paperclip." Most of the twelve spoke three languages, German, French and English. They were:

- Richard Lindenberg - Physician
- Hubert Nerwin - Engineer
- Hans Joachim Trurnit - M.D.
- Joachim Stauff - Ph D. Chemist
- Otto Hecht - Ph D. Chemist
- Wilhelm Zumbusch - Ubering.
- Heinrich Weigand - M.D. Dipl. Ing.
- Dietrich Beischer - Professor
- Gustav Bernshaus - Engineer
- Max Josenhaus - Chemical Engineer
