Formed in December 1937 by Eric Burgess and Trevor Cusack as a splinter group of the MIS. The MAA would go on to become one of the members of CBAS before formally merging into the BIS on December 31st 1945. The journal of the MAA was called Spacewards as was one of a very few astronautical journals to continue publication all through World War II. The MAA also published bulletins.
