A hypothetical four-stage chemical-rocket propelled space vehicle is pictured as it might appear carrying an eight-man crew on a round trip between Mars and Earth satellite orbits. The structure at left is the detachable quarters and the chemical rocket vehicle for soft landing and exploration of Mars. This chemical spaceship is designed to operate in a gravity-free environment and is not intended to land.
