RELEASE: 12-072 NASA TO RELEASE NEW WOMEN@NASA VIDEOS IN CELEBRATION OF WOMEN'S HISTORY MONTH

WASHINGTON -- NASA will release new Women@NASA video interviews at the Women, Aerospace and Innovation event on March 8. The event will take place at the George Washington University's Jack Morton Auditorium and Marvin Center in Washington, D.C., from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. EST. The Women@NASA website showcases women from diverse backgrounds, with careers at NASA, telling their stories in their own words. Featured women include astronauts, engineers, scientists and administrators. They discuss their accomplishments and offer encouragement to women and girls considering technical careers to become the trailblazers of tomorrow. The website also provides information about NASA internships and career opportunities. The event also will spotlight information from the Girl Scouts Research Institute on how to inspire young women to enter science, technology, engineering and mathematics fields. The National Academy of Engineering will present its Engineer Girl website, which answers questions girls may have about engineering jobs and hosts an annual essay contest on ways engineering impacts the world. Additionally, Women@NASA will announce new ways its audience can connect online, including a new Twitter handle, Facebook page and forthcoming smartphone application.

MEDIA ADVISORY: M12-038 NASA CHIEF TECHNOLOGIST, SPACE TECH HEAD TO VISIT HUNTSVILLE'S CFD RESEARCH CORPORATION

WASHINGTON -- NASA Chief Technologist Mason Peck and Space Technology Program Director Michael Gazarik will visit CFD Research Corporation (CFDRC) of Huntsville, Ala., at 1 p.m. CST on Thursday, March 8. Media representatives are invited to join Peck, Gazarik and CFDRC's CEO Sangeeta Singhal during the one-hour tour of the company. Officials will be available to speak with reporters during the event at CFDRC corporate headquarters, located at 215 Wynn Drive in Huntsville. There also will be a photo opportunity with officials during the tour. CFDRC develops cutting edge technologies and provides innovative solutions for aerospace and defense, biomedical and life sciences, energy, materials and other industries. The company has received numerous NASA Small Business Innovation Research awards to develop software solutions that both enable NASA missions and have potential for commercial applications.
