NASA announced the selection of IBM Federal Sector Division, Houston, for a contract to provide as many as 48 ground-based, mission operations main frame computer systems, peripheral equipment, and services. (NASA Release C91-o)

NASA announced the selection of Pacific Corp Capital, Inc., Reston, Virginia, for a contract for Institutional Automatic Data Processing (IADP). [ADP was to support the Johnson Space Center, Houston, and the White Sands Test Facility, New Mexico. (NASA Release C91-p)

USA Today featured an article on Challenger Centers for Space Science Education, which use simulated space missions to teach elementary and middle school students science, mathematics, teamwork, and technology.
