Dr. Robert Watson, NASA Chief Scientist for the Airborne Antarctic Ozone project, reported that, midpoint of the project, both aircraft involved were performing very well and that mission scientists were very pleased with the quality of data being returned by the instruments. The Antarctic Ozone Project employed two NASA aircraft, a modified flying lab-oratory DC-8, and an advanced high-altitude ER-2.
