The extent of the economic impact of the space program on a seven-county Central Florida area around Cape Kennedy was disclosed in a report by the Univ. of Florida Bureau of Economic and Business Research. Total personal incomes in the seven counties had increased from $372,779,000 in 1950 to $572,375,000 in 1954, then more than tripled to $1,738,566,000 in 1963. (Houston Post, 10/6/65; KSC Historian)
