27 October-2 November: The 67th Annual General Conference of the Federation Aeronautique Internationale (FAI) convened in Sidney, Australia. Astronaut Charles Conrad, Jr., was presented the 1973 FAI Gold Space Medal for his role as Skylab 2 commander, and Astronaut Alan L. Bean Was presented the Yuri Gagarin Gold Medal for his role as Skylab 3 mission commander. Both men also received the De la Vaulx Medal for their successive space duration records. (NAA News.
