U.S.S.R. celebrated 53rd anniversary of Bolshevik Revolution with display of military equipment including four SAM-3 missiles. Western observers said they noticed no new equipment in parade. (Clarity, NYT, 11/8/70, 1)
New European satellite consortium was pooling talents to strengthen chances for large share of European space business, including possible work on U.S. shuttle program, Nature reported. Seven-member group with D. W. Malim of Marconi Space and Defence Systems of U.K. as Chairman of Managing Board, included French Societe Nationale Industrielle Aerospatiale, Etudes Techniques et Constructions Aerospiatales of Belgium, Societe Anonyme de Telecommunications of France, Messeschmitt-Boelkow-Blohm and Siemens of West Germany, and Selenia of Italy.
