The Japanese Science and Technology Agency announced a 10-year plan to develop an untended space plane and a series of robots capable of assembling and repairing satellites in space. The Agency also said that Japan would begin preliminary research into a crew-tended Space Shuttle. (UPI, Jun 28/89; W Times, Jun 30/89)
